Miranda Lambert scolds fans for taking selfies during her concert: 'I don't like it'

During her "Velvet Rodeo" Las Vegas residency at the Bakkt Theater, country singer Miranda Lambert paused her set to address fans who were more focused on taking selfies than listening to the music. Lambert expressed her frustration, stating, "These girls are worried about their selfies and not listening to the song, and it’s p---ing me off a little bit. I don’t like it, at all. We’re here to hear some country music tonight." Lambert quickly recovered from the interruption and asked the audience if they should start the song again.

Lambert's comments highlight a growing concern among artists about concert etiquette. Adele, the British singer, also recently spoke out against fans who throw objects onstage. Concertgoers have engaged in disruptive behavior, such as throwing phones, bracelets, bags of ashes, and even physically assaulting artists. Experts suggest that the blurring of online and real-life boundaries may contribute to this behavior, as fans strive for viral moments with their favorite artists.

As these incidents continue to occur, it is important to address the underlying causes or motivations that lead individuals to act inappropriately or harmfully. Licensed psychologist Nathan Brandon emphasizes the need to explore why these attacks happen and the breakdown in empathy and understanding that accompanies them.

Concert etiquette remains an ongoing issue, and artists are increasingly using their platforms to address and discourage disruptive behavior from fans.
